Welcome

Thank you for coming to my Website, I hope that you find something of interest to you here.

My name is Cheryl Jamieson, and Body SOS is my business offering Complementary Therapies based in the City of Inverness, in the Highlands of Scotland.

The Complementary Therapies that I offer treat the body as a whole rather than focusing on the symptoms being experienced, with each treatment being adapted to the needs of each client.

The treatments that I am currently offering are:

Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology and Warm Paraffin Wax Treatments for the hands and feet...I also offer Manicures and Pedicures as an additional treatment but not a single treatment. I will also be offering Thermo-Auricular Therapy (Hopi Earcandles) and also Hot Stone Massage from June 2008.

As a qualified Complementary Therapist I am registered and licenced to offer the treatments above by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). To view the treatments for which I am registered and licenced to offer under the FHT, then please follow this link to the FHT webpage that allows you to look for a therapist http://www.fht.org.uk/ Search for therapists in Inverness and click on my name on the list.

Complementary medicine stems from the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, naturally. When this healing mechanism is thwarted by increased stress and tension, a number of ailments and illnesses can develop.

Stress affects us all, we live with it in everyday life. In the short term it can be beneficial, to enable us to complete tasks, but it is in the long term that problems can start to arise. Stress interfere's with the body's healing ability, directly impacting the immune system and over long periods of time developing some of the conditions that we have mentioned above, making us more susceptible to illness and disease. It is now estimated that over 75% of illnesses are stress related, having effects on your body, your thoughts and feeling and also your behaviour. Some examples are:

  • Anxiety
  • Back Pain
  • Clenched Jaw
  • Headaches
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Increased worry
  • Insomnia
  • Mood fluctuations

The therapies detailed in this website reduce stress by generating deep, tranquil relaxation and can be used alongside conventional medicine.

If you are a healthy individual, and feel that you are coping with everything that life throws at you there is still a need for balance, relaxation, moments of reflection and serenity. This allows you to get in touch with your inner self and experience the peace and well being that lies within.

These treatments help to maintain a well balanced body with a strong immune system that can ward off illness and fatigue. Use any of the treatments mentioned above as a preventative measure, so that whatever you do, you do it with more enthusiasm, joy and energy.

Is it time to Stamp Out Stress in your life?

I hope that you enjoy this site, and hope to speak with you soon.

Take care of yourself.

Cheryl
